Scouting Report

I've scouted the place, and here's the situation...
  • Kitchen: No food accidentally dropped on the floor.
  • Living room: No crumbs by the couch.
  • Front door: No food discovered, but a good smelly spot from a bag of garbage (Mom hasn't noticed it yet).
  • Bedroom: No leftover cookies from last night. Even looked under the doggie bed.
  • My crate: No leftover cookies from this morning.
  • Food mat: No canned doggie food left. Only nasty, dry stuff.
Hmmm. I was already so hungry that I ate the pills I refused to eat earlier (covered with the chicken stuff that Mom uses when she thinks she's tricking me...yeah right...).

I guess I need to beg for some people food or try to get Mom to give me more canned food or something...

I'm refusing to eat that nasty, dry doggie food.

Walking in the Park

Mom had a cool surprise for me tonight. We went for a walk in the BIG park!

We haven't gone there for a while, so I didn't expect the trip tonight. When she got home from work, she took me outside to potty like always. She wouldn't let me walk, though, so I was a little upset with her. After she gets home, we ALWAYS go for a walk. Why on earth wouldn't she let me tonight?!

That's when she surprised me by getting in the car. I was even madder at first 'cause I thought she was taking me to the groomer. No walk and then a trip to the groomer? That's just RUDE! (She's been calling me a "shaggy beast" lately and usually that means a trip to the groomer.)

But then all of the sudden I realized that we were in the parking lot at the big park! I got SO stinking excited. I couldn't wait to get out of the car, and when I did, I went into complete hyper-doggie mode. I ran in huge circles around Mom 'cause I was so happy about being at the big park.

There are lots and lots of great smells at the park. I was excited during our whole walk and I didn't even get too hot. Mom said she was cold, but I just told her she needed to grow herself some fur. I practically ran through the entire park and Mom kept up with me 'cause she was cold. It was a great night. Not even too many other doggies in the park, so I had lots of sniffing spots to myself.

I love that park. Thanks, Mom!

I Got a Card!

My friend Belle sent me a card! She's one of my friends from Twitter. She lives far away, in a place called Louisiana. (I have no idea where that is, but Mom said it's far away.) Anyway, I sent her a postcard and she sent me a cool card that has cute wiener doggies on the front of it. That's really neat 'cause Belle is a cute wiener doggie herself! I told Mom that I need some cards like this one but with cute Shih Tzu doggies on them.

Belle also put info in the card about a ranch that is right by her house. She said that they have real alligators there!

Here are some pictures of me with my cool card from Belle.

Bed Head

My Mom took this picture of me last night, right when I woked up from a nap. Can you believe it?! She's showing off my "bed head!" The least she could have done was give me a warning she had the camera out! When you got a lot of fur on your head, it tends to get a little smooshed when you nap. She thought it was cute, but oh, how embarrassing...

Dog Station

This is a picture Mom took over by our pond. Now, there's a post there and a garbage can and a sign that says "Dog Station." Don't you think that means we're supposed to pee there?

The Rice Man

The best thing happened this weekend! A guy came to our door with the food in the little boxes for Mom. She didn't even call anyone, so I don't know how he knew to come to our house. Maybe it was magic!

Anyway, the food in little boxes always comes with little boxes of RICE, too, which is one of my favorite, favorite things. I love rice! Mom usually gives me some, too, so I hit the jackpot this weekend. I hope the rice man comes back soon and brings us more!

Here's a picture of me chowing down on some of that yummy rice.

And here I am looking cute and trying to convince Mom to give me MORE RICE!!! (This technique usually works.)

"I'm a cuuuute doggie. I need more RICE, please!"

Champagne's Letter

I'm helping Mom's work out by trying to get writing submissions to my very own Articulate Animals Gallery in the National Gallery of Writing. I love all of my animal friends, and I think we've got a lot to say...so our writing should be showcased right along with the humans' writing!!! (I wroted about this a while back. Click here to read more about it.)

Anyway, I got a submission to my gallery yesterday and I wanted to share it with you.

This piece of writing was sent in by a doggy named Champagne. He went over the Rainbow Bridge this summer and I think he misses his Mommy and Daddy. He wrote this letter to them to help them feel better about what he's doing now. He didn't want them to be sad. Here's what he submitted to my gallery...

Dear Mom and Dad,

I am writing to let you know what I have been doing for the last 2 months. I am free of pain and have been running, walking, playing like I did when you took me into your home.

Many thanks for giving me the life and love that you did after I was abandoned by my previous owner.

Remember that I will always love you and don’t feel sad for me as I am happy playing and running with Rebel, Pollygirl, and all the others.

Take care and I am watching over you.

Love always,
Champagne
My Mom said that this letter made her sniffle. She's such a silly Mom.
