Lots of News from the Doggie Doctor

Mom made me go pee-pee in a cup again last week. And earlier this week she took me to the vet and she LEFT ME THERE. I was not happy about that. They poked me and prodded me and took funny pictures of me called "x-rays." For one of those, you know what they did? They made me lay on my back with my belly all exposed! How rude!

Mom talked to the doggie doctor on the phone a couple of times and we got all good news. Yeah! That made Mom and I both pretty darn happy. Here's what she found out...

My pee-pee was "clean." I guess that means that there weren't any bacteria buggies in there and there also weren't any crystals. The crystals come before the icky bladder stones show up. And I didn't have any inflammation. No idea what that is, but that's what Mom told me. One of the x-rays showed them that there aren't any sneaky, icky bladder stones hanging out in there, either.

And in the other x-rays, they decided that my heart was a good size and that my heart murmur wasn't a problem. (I guess that means that my heart talks or something.) And the last x-rays showed that my liver was the right size, too. My liver has been ouchy and that's why I have to eat special doggie food and take all of those medicines. But all of the other tests said that at least my liver is the same as it was and it's not getting any worse. Mom was pretty happy about that. So was the doggie doctor.

And my dry eyes are o.k. with my eye droppies, just like Mom's been giving me. She said that she didn't talk to the doggie doctor about my arthur-itis 'cause it hasn't been bothering me as much.

So that's the scoop. Mom says that I'm healthy enough now to get my teeth cleaned, whatever that means!

Going to the doggie doctor sure takes a lot out of ya, though. Too much poking and prodding for me. Here's how I spent my evening:

This is me givin' Mom a "stop taking pictures!" look. he he he

Yeah for the Pond!

Mom and I went for a walk around our pond tonight! That rocks. We haven't gone in a long, long time 'cause of my bacteria buggies and mom's allergies (whatever the heck those are). But we went tonight! Mom said we were kinda celebrating 'cause it was a nice night and 'cause the doggie doctor said that I didn't have any crystals or bacteria buggies in my pee-pee. That's good news! I was kinda miffed 'cause Mom made me potty in a cup this morning, but it sounds like it was worth it!

Man, those geeses have been busy at my pond. They pooped ALL over the sidewalk! I wonder why their moms don't pick it up. Aren't all moms supposed to pick up their kids' poo?

Playing with Hoss at Grandma and Grandpa's House

Mom and I went to Grandma and Grandpa's house this weekend! Hossy was there, too, of course. He didn't try to steal my Mom this time, though, so we were cool. Uncle Marty didn't even "meow" at me, so it was a good weekend.

Here are some pictures of Hossy and I playing in Grandma's awesome backyard.

And here are some pictures of just me playing. Isn't that a cool yard? Grandma's got a big fence, so I can run all over without my stupid leash!

I liked to sniff in the tall grass. (Mom said that's 'cause Uncle Marty needs to mow.)

And look at me run in this action shot. See those ears flying?!

I didn't want to go back inside when Mom called me. She took this picture of me bein' naughty... I refused to budge from that spot!

Only downside to my weekend were some big booms and things going on outside. Mom said that they were just from fireworks. I didn't care -- they scared the heck out of me. I hid behind the toilet in Grandma's bathroom. Seemed like a good place to me!

Stupid Bath

Mom made me take yet another stupid freaking bath tonight. Ridiculous! I'm a DOGGIE. I'm supposed to be stinky. That's one of my jobs!

And here's another thing that I just don't understand... Why on earth does Mom use shampoo that smells like "vanilla" on me? I don't want to smell like that stuff. If you want me to actually like it, make shampoo that smells like chicken.

Headin' to Market

Mom and I went to the farmer's market this morning. We hadn't gone there in like 12 years or something. (Well, maybe not quite that long, but it sure felt like a long time!)

The market is cool 'cause lots of people are there and everyone likes to pet the cute little doggies who come. I love that attention. There were lots of other doggies there today, though, and I'm not a big fan of that. Lots and lots of people, too, and I was afraid I was going to get smooshed. Mom let me check stuff out for a while and then when I got tuckered out she put me in my doggie bag. That was sort of cool 'cause I still got to see the market but didn't have to worry about people stepping on me.

It started to really, really rain, though, when we were at the market. Mom got really drenched. I was in my doggie bag, so only my head got wet. I thought that was pretty funny (the part about Mom getting wet and me not so much -- never really a fan of me getting wet).

Mom said maybe we'd go back to the market again soon. I hope so!

Doggie Alarm Clock

Mom calls me her "doggie alarm clock." She thinks that it's my job to wake her up in the morning. Granted, I do have to go potty in the morning and she's got to get out of bed to take me, but is that really my job?

So here's how I messed with her this week... All week long I slept in. I didn't get out of bed until she was all ready to go to work. She even had to come wake me up to take me out. And then today...on a Saturday morning when she wanted to sleep in...I woke her up early!

That'll show her. I'm a doggie...not an alarm clock! And it's so much fun to mess with Mom...

Beds and Blankies

It's good to have choices when you're looking for the perfect spot to nap. Mom's made sure that I have plenty of soft stuff to nap on, too. I've got my red doggie bed and my favorite blue blankie. Grandma Cindy made me an orange Illini blankie a couple of years ago, too, and we keep that by my doggie bed.

After my birthday this year Mom gave me a new white blankie. She put it in a different spot in our living room 'cause she thought I had enough blankies by my doggie bed. I had to disagree, though. I didn't like it over where Mom put it, so I gradually moved it to beside my doggie bed. Took me some time, but I got it over there. I was sneaky. I don't think Mom noticed...

Anyway, I like to put all of my blankies together in this big pile. Perfect for napping! I sure take up a lot of space for such a little doggie.

Messing with Mom

Here's my new way of messing around with Mom...

She gives me all of these pills twice a day, and I decided that I like to eat them in my crate so she takes them there for me. She wraps all of my pills in this yummy chicken stuff, too. Let's face it...that's really the only draw for me. Wouldn't want the stupid pills on their own.

SO, I've got a pile of pills covered with chicky stuff down the hall in my office, and Mom's hanging out in the living room. Perfect opportunity for me. I've learned that I can actually chew all of the chicky stuff off of the pills and then leave the pills in a pile outside of my crate. All without Mom seeing a bit of it. She just finds the pile of my icky, slobbery pills.

Mom hates that. He he he!
