Showing Buttons the Pond

This afternoon Mom and I showed Buttons the pond where we like to walk. I think Buttons had fun there, too. The geeses weren't there today but some ducks were quacking on the water.

I showed Buttons all of the best places to sniff when we're walking around the pond.

Um...Mom...I think Buttons is trying to eat some old goose poop here...

I was so proud of my new sister. She went and sniffed this tree on her own!

This is a very important place to sniff because it's the "Dog Station." I think that sign means we're supposed to potty there.

Here are some pictures of Buttons and I walking around the pond. You'll note that I'm the one in the lead most of the time...

I think we wore Buttons out when we were walking around the pond. Here's what she did when we got back home.

That's one tired Buttons doggie!

Buttons Has Arrived!

Mom and I went to pick up my new sister Buttons last night! We drove a ways in our car and we picked up Mom's friend Ronda and her doggie Molly. Then all four of us went to go meet Shawnee, Shawnee's Mom, and Buttons! It was a ways farther in our car, but we got there.

I was pretty scared at first 'cause there were a LOT of doggies and a couple of 'em were barking. It was really super cold, too. Shawnee was shivering, so Shawnee's Mom put her back in their car so she'd be warm. Poor Shawnee, though...her Mom gave Buttons and I some chicky stuff while Shawnee was locked in the car. We ate it allll gone before we thought about her not getting any. Oops! Sorry, Shawnee!

Here's a pic of Mom holding my new sissy and me! Buttons and I were both a little scared, so this was the only way to get a picture of both of us together when we first met each other.

We put all of Buttons's toys in our car and put her beds in there, too. Then we said bye-bye to Shawnee and Shawnee's Mom and we started to drive back home. We dropped Ronda and Molly off at their house, then we drove to our house.

Buttons investigated everything when we got home. She helped Mom unpack her toys and stuff, too. I supervised, of course.

Buttons played with all of the toys last night. I think she had fun. Shawnee's Mom packed a can of yummy, yummy stuff called "Thanksgiving Dinner" for Buttons and I to share. We chowed down on that stuff. It was SO good!

Here's a pic of Buttons and I hanging out on the couch last night.

Buttons didn't want to go night-night last night, though. She was up all night long. Mom said that she was probably just nervous. What a night! Buttons even went hiding under Mom's bed. So silly! Mom and I napped a little today to try to recover.

This afternoon I showed Buttons our normal route for our walks. That was fun. Mom said that tomorrow we'll show Buttons the pond. Now it's time for me to nap again, but Buttons is back to digging in the toy box! She sure loves those toys.

It's Super Pooper!

It was a super-nice weekend where we live, so Mom and I went for walks around the pond both days this weekend. I was really excited about that. We don't get to go for long walks after work anymore 'cause it gets dark out so early.

Anyway, on Saturday I went poop four times while we were walking around the pond. I thought that was hysterical! It was a new record for me. Mom wasn't so amused, though, 'cause she picks up the poo, and she said I wasted four of her poop bags. Sunday, I only went twice on our walk around the pond, just to be nice to her.

I blame this on the antibiotics, of course. Still pretty impressive, though. That's a whole lot of poo. I'm the Super Pooper!

My Weekend

I love weekends. They're usually stay-home days for Mom and I...and this weekend was a perfect stay-home weekend with lots of Mom-time for me!

We practiced our napping skills all day on Saturday. Mom's still getting over that flu bug, so she was really super tired. I didn't mind, though, 'cause I'm a super napper.

We went for a walk around our pond, too. That was awesome because we haven't done that since Mom got her flu bug. I walked slow, just to take it easy on her. I was really excited, though, to check out my pond smells.

And Saturday night, do you know where Mom and I went? To the doggie store! We had to go buy some cookies, so off to the store we went. I love to go shopping. A doggie at the store tried to eat me, so that put a damper on the trip. Mom let me wander around and sniff, though, and that's always a good thing.

Got to ride in the car on Sunday, too. Mom said that doggies weren't allowed in the grocery store, though, so I had to wait in the car. I wasn't too thrilled about that. I guess that was partly my fault, though, 'cause Mom tried to get me to stay at home. I insisted on going with her and threw a little fit. She caved, of course. But then I ended up sitting in the car at the store. She wasn't gone very long, and then she got me some French fries after the grocery store. That made everything fine by me!

So it was a great weekend for Mom and I. I just wish she didn't have to go back to work tomorrow...

Sicky Mom

This has been a super cool week for me because Mom's been home almost all week! Isn't that awesome?! I love Mom's stay-home days.

Only problem is that she's home 'cause she's been sick. She says she's got the flew buggies. So I keep giving her my best, cutest "play with me!" looks, but she just wants to be flopped on our couch. Here's a pic of one of my cutest looks. How can she resist this face???

When we go out for our walks, she won't even keep up with me. I have to keep dragging her along 'cause she's so slow. That's a big bummer.

I guess stay-home days aren't as much fun with the flew buggies. But at least I still have Mom here...

Call PETA

Somebody call PETA. This bath is NOT ethical treatment of ME.

Who cares if I rolled in pee-pee in the grass this morning?! I'd rather smell like that than this stupid vanilla shampoo!

A Penguin?!

When Mom and I were walking around my pond the other day, she thought she saw a penguin out on the water. She's crazy! I said, "Mom, you know it's not cold enough here for penguins to be on our pond!"

So we investigated and you know what? It was a goose! The goose was diving, so its head was under the water and its booty was up in the air! Mom saw the goose's belly and booty and thought it looked like a penguin 'cause it's belly and booty are white but it's legs and tail feathers are all black. I thought that was pretty funny.

We learned two things that day.

1. Geeses have white booties.

2. Mom should wear her glasses more often.

What's Zooming on My Pond?

Mom and I walked around the pond tonight. I heard a funny buzzing sort of noise on the way over there. It got pretty loud. When I looked at my pond, you know what I saw? Boats! That's right -- there were boats out zooming around my pond.

Mom said that they were "remote control" boats 'cause our pond isn't big enough for boats people ride in. And there were guys on the side of the water with things that told the boats where to drive on the pond. That's pretty weird, don't you think?

Anyway, the good thing about the boats zooming on my pond is that it scared all of the geeses away. Those loud honkers keep pooping on my sidewalk! I wouldn't mind 'em if they would stop doing that. And maybe quiet down a bit. They're so loud!

Bad thing about the boats is that they scared away the duckies, too. Mom and I like to listen to them quackin' out on my pond. (They're not as loud as the geeses and they don't poop all over, either!)

Gotta admit that the boats zooming sorta scared me a little, too. Mom had to pull me along for a bit when the boats got super close to the sidewalk. Oopsie...

Walkin' in the Park

Mom had a cool surprise for me today. We went to the big park again! That's one of my favorite places. Of course I thought we were going to the groomer 'cause it's the same direction. But when Mom turned our car at a certain corner, I knew where we were heading. I was SO excited by the time that we got to the parking lot that Mom said I was hurting her ears with all of my yipping and whining. Sorry...but I was excited and she wasn't moving fast enough!

I ran in circles when we got out of the car. If you were at this park you'd do the same thing. It's such a cool place! There were a bazillion other doggies at the park today. I'm sure they were just as excited as I was.

Today Mom tooked our camera so that I could show you some of the stuff at my big park. Here's the big sign by the parking lot. Mom said you might want to know what park this is. I think that's silly 'cause it's the big park and everyone should know that. But, oh well. Here's the sign. I think it says, "The Big, Cool Park" on it.

Here's me walking over a bridge. We don't usually go this way 'cause it's a lot longer and I get tired. (My legs are pretty little...) We used to go this way lots, but Mom said we've both had too many cookies to walk this way now. Anyway, we walked a little way this direction and then turned around.

There's a HUGE bunny rabbit statue at the park. Mom tried to take a picture of me sitting with the bunny, but I was too excited to sit there. (Sorry, Mom.)

I got a little tired 'cause the sun was so shiny today and we were walking more than we usually do. Had to sit and rest for a bit.

Here's a picture of me admiring one of the statues. Mom says there are lots of statues at the park for the humans to enjoy. I don't usually pay attention to 'em 'cause there's so much other stuff there for doggies to sniff and check out.

I love this sign 'cause there are always great sniffs on it. I think the humans put it there as a sort of porta potty for dogs. I mean, it's a post with a picture of a doggie on it. Doesn't that just scream "pee on me!"?

Here's me with another statue. I was trying to figure out what was takin' Mom so long. She was taking too much time fiddling with the camera and not enough time walking!

This is a sign with a map of my big park and all of the cool trails to walk on. (It's another great sign to sniff!)

In this picture I'm thinking, "Come on, Mom! Stop taking pictures and just enjoy the park!"

The park's got lots of trees and regularly grassy spots. There's also lots of super-tall grass. It's as tall as Mom!

I tried not to let all of those leafs on the sidewalk spoil my walk. I don't like leafs!

I was really thirsty after all of that walking. Mom usually keeps a water bowl and some water in the car for me, though, so I can get a drink after we've walked. That's a good idea in my opinion 'cause I was super thirsty today. She thought I was gonna drink the whole bowl full.

"Stop taking pictures of me, Mom. I was just takin' a drink!"

All of that walking at the park wore me out. So I had to take a nap when we got home. (Mom thinks I'm cute when I'm sleepy. Heck, I'm cute all of the time.)

So those are all the pictures of my walk at the big park today. Isn't it a cool place? I hope we get to go back tomorrow. I love the park!

Stupid Leafs

Mom loves this time of year 'cause the weather is cooler and the trees are all colorful. She thinks they're so pretty.

I disagree.

I'm all about that "cooler weather" thing, but the stupid trees get on my nerves. You know why? 'Cause they won't keep their stupid leafs on their branches! I hate those leafs!
The leafs crunch on my paws and that ain't cool. They stick to me and they're slippery when they're wet. The worse thing by far, though, is when they torpedo at me in the parking lot. I'll be walking along, minding my own business, and then I'm suddenly attacked by leaves flying at me! It's pretty scary. Not at all fun.

So, trees, I'm putting you on notice. Hold onto your stupid leafs!

This is a tree by our house. Mom says, "Oh, so pretty!"

I say, "My nemesis!"

Can you see me sticking my tongue out at the leafs? I was being subtle.
The one really good way to get back at the leafs for attacking me is a bit unladylike. I pee on 'em! Mom almost caught me in the act here. I was looking for a good leaf to take my anger out on.

Walking in the Park

Mom had a cool surprise for me tonight. We went for a walk in the BIG park!

We haven't gone there for a while, so I didn't expect the trip tonight. When she got home from work, she took me outside to potty like always. She wouldn't let me walk, though, so I was a little upset with her. After she gets home, we ALWAYS go for a walk. Why on earth wouldn't she let me tonight?!

That's when she surprised me by getting in the car. I was even madder at first 'cause I thought she was taking me to the groomer. No walk and then a trip to the groomer? That's just RUDE! (She's been calling me a "shaggy beast" lately and usually that means a trip to the groomer.)

But then all of the sudden I realized that we were in the parking lot at the big park! I got SO stinking excited. I couldn't wait to get out of the car, and when I did, I went into complete hyper-doggie mode. I ran in huge circles around Mom 'cause I was so happy about being at the big park.

There are lots and lots of great smells at the park. I was excited during our whole walk and I didn't even get too hot. Mom said she was cold, but I just told her she needed to grow herself some fur. I practically ran through the entire park and Mom kept up with me 'cause she was cold. It was a great night. Not even too many other doggies in the park, so I had lots of sniffing spots to myself.

I love that park. Thanks, Mom!

Dog Station

This is a picture Mom took over by our pond. Now, there's a post there and a garbage can and a sign that says "Dog Station." Don't you think that means we're supposed to pee there?

Stuff at the Pond

Mom and I walked around the pond tonight. She didn't want to 'cause of her allergies but I begged and begged and tugged and tugged. She finally caved and let me go that direction.

Funniest thing happened when Mom and I were walking. We met a doggie who was just a bit smaller than me and you know what the doggie's name was? Chicken! I couldn't believe it. The doggie was named Chicken. That's so silly! I was, of course, scared of the doggie and I hid behind Mom each time Chicken tried to say "hi" to me. Mom said that Chicken wasn't a chicken but I was. Whatever...

Goose Update: I was surprised that the honkers were quiet tonight. Only one honking incident when we were walking. Looks like they stopped all of that pooping on my sidewalk, too. It's about time! Those crazy geese were making such a mess over there! I don't think as many of them are living on my pond anymore, so maybe that has something to do with the quiet night and lack of poo.

Updates on Stuff

I'm not so mad at my Mom anymore. She took me to the Farmer's Market this weekend and we had a nice, lazy weekend together. Those are the best! I love that market, too. I got a little over-heated there this time, though, and Mom felt horrible about that. Worked well for me in the end because Mom felt so bad. That meant extra loving for me!

And for the record, the honkers (a.k.a. geese) are still flying over our parking lot all of the time. Mom said we're just lucky they haven't pooped on us.

More Goose News

Mom hasn't taken me to my pond lately 'cause she says she has bad allergies. So, I haven't been over there to check on those geese. I can tell you, though, that there are still lots and lots of geeses over there. You know how I know? I hear them.

Those things are the loudest honkers. I think that's all they do, too, besides swim and poop. Almost every time Mom and I are outside, I hear them honking. Lots of the time, they're flying around over the top of us in our parking lot. Honk, honk, honk! I think we should change their name from "geese" to "honkers." Honk, honk, honk! We need to figure out a way to put a volume control on those guys so they're not so loud.

And they need to start picking up their poop. I'm tired of stepping in it on my sidewalk!

Goose Update

Mom and I walked around the pond again tonight. All of the bazillion geeses are STILL over there. This time they were all just floating around on the water, though. They weren't acting all crazy like they were last night. I think their party must have been done.

So the geese were quieter, but they still haven't picked up all of that messy poop that they left on my sidewalk. My Mom picks up my poop. Why don't the geeses' moms pick of theirs?

Oh -- we saw some duckies tonight, too. They were walking by the sidewalk. I didn't want to scare 'em, so I just acted like I didn't see them. I think they still got a little scared, though. They were quacking at me. I just kept on walking and sniffing the grass.

The Geese Are Crazy!

Mom and I walked around the pond tonight. I decided that we could. I've been refusing to walk over there for a while just 'cause I didn't feel like it. I was bored with my pond.

Anyway, when we were there tonight, the geese were going crazy. There were a bazillion of them -- lots more than usual. And they were flapping and flying and swimming around all over the place. They were SO loud, too. HONK HONK HONK! (Just like that.) I think maybe the normal geeses were having a party or something and they invited all of their friend geeses over.

Then, all of the geeses just flew off to one of the other ponds. It was funny 'cause all of the sudden, they were gone. I guess their party got busted. They left some duckies behind, though, so then the duckies were quacking up a storm -- probably happy that the geese all left and they had the pond to themselves.

Even after the geese left, I could sure tell that lots of them had been at my pond. They really need to start cleaning up after themselves...or to stop going potty on my sidewalk!

The Big, Big Park

Mom wasn't very happy with me today 'cause I kept her up in the night. I thought she would be scared of those thunder booms like I was. I guess she wasn't. Oh, well.

Anyways, she couldn't have been too upset with me 'cause tonight she had a special treat for me. We went to the big, big park! We never go there 'cause we have to drive there in our car. My pond is right by our house, so that's lots closer. But tonight I got to go to the big park. Yeah!

The big park has grass that's taller than my Mom. Nice sidewalks to walk on, too, through all the trees and tall grass. Mom said there are sculptures for peoples to look at, but those don't really matter to me. I had my eyes on the grass and the trees. I loved all of the cool smells. I sniffed everything, too. My kept saying, "Do you really have to sniff every tree?!" and I would just keep on sniffing! I had so much fun.

We went for a long walk in the big park and it was getting dark out by the time we got back to our car. I was pretty tired when we got home, but I sure had fun at the big park!

Yeah for My Pond!

Mom took me for a walk around the pond tonight! We haven't done that since I had my icky seizure over there a couple of weeks ago. Mom was scared 'cause she didn't think I should walk very far. I missed the pond, though. I had SO much stuff to sniff tonight! I made sure I checked out every tree -- even the ones that I don't normally sniff!

My cool puddle was back, too, 'cause it rained today. I was nice to Mom, though, and I walked around it like a good girl. She was so happy. I did wipe my feets in lots of mud, though. That didn't make Mom so happy. A doggie can only do so much, though...

Yeah for the Pond!

Mom and I went for a walk around our pond tonight! That rocks. We haven't gone in a long, long time 'cause of my bacteria buggies and mom's allergies (whatever the heck those are). But we went tonight! Mom said we were kinda celebrating 'cause it was a nice night and 'cause the doggie doctor said that I didn't have any crystals or bacteria buggies in my pee-pee. That's good news! I was kinda miffed 'cause Mom made me potty in a cup this morning, but it sounds like it was worth it!

Man, those geeses have been busy at my pond. They pooped ALL over the sidewalk! I wonder why their moms don't pick it up. Aren't all moms supposed to pick up their kids' poo?
