Mom surprised me Saturday morning with a trip to see Grandma and Grandpa! We haven't gone there in a long time 'cause Mom had the flu and our car was broken before then. That meant that I hadn't gotten to see my grandparents in a long, long time. I was SO excited when Mom told me we were going.
We actually went to visit my Uncle Matt and Aunt Kiana before we went to Grandma and Grandpa's house. My dog cousin Dakota lives there, along with some of my people cousins. The baby people cousin was so funny. He kept squealing really loud and laughing when I walked by him. He did that over and over again. It was funny. Mom said he really likes me. She helped him pet me a couple of times, but she was super careful -- she didn't want him to pull my fur. I didn't want that, either!
So we visited them and then went to Grandma and Grandpa's house. Guess who showed up right after we got there? Hossy and Uncle Weenie (a.k.a. Uncle Marty)! Hoss is my buddy. We played in the backyard for a while and everyone stayed outside watching us. Then we went inside and hung out there for a while. Mom's Uncle Barton and Aunt Ginny came by to visit, too. Haven't seen them in a long, long time. Uncle Barton was a weenie, though, 'cause he meowed at me like Uncle Marty does!
I may or may not have had a little accident in the living room during our visit. Shhh. Don't tell.
It was a long day of visiting, and I was super-duper tired when we left to drive home. I was sound asleep on Mom's lap on the way home and I had another dream about peeing on trees. Yeah...I did it again... I peed on Mom in the car. Oops! At least she can't get mad at me for that. I didn't mean to do it. I was asleep!

My Weekend
I love weekends. They're usually stay-home days for Mom and I...and this weekend was a perfect stay-home weekend with lots of Mom-time for me!
We practiced our napping skills all day on Saturday. Mom's still getting over that flu bug, so she was really super tired. I didn't mind, though, 'cause I'm a super napper.
We went for a walk around our pond, too. That was awesome because we haven't done that since Mom got her flu bug. I walked slow, just to take it easy on her. I was really excited, though, to check out my pond smells.
And Saturday night, do you know where Mom and I went? To the doggie store! We had to go buy some cookies, so off to the store we went. I love to go shopping. A doggie at the store tried to eat me, so that put a damper on the trip. Mom let me wander around and sniff, though, and that's always a good thing.
Got to ride in the car on Sunday, too. Mom said that doggies weren't allowed in the grocery store, though, so I had to wait in the car. I wasn't too thrilled about that. I guess that was partly my fault, though, 'cause Mom tried to get me to stay at home. I insisted on going with her and threw a little fit. She caved, of course. But then I ended up sitting in the car at the store. She wasn't gone very long, and then she got me some French fries after the grocery store. That made everything fine by me!
So it was a great weekend for Mom and I. I just wish she didn't have to go back to work tomorrow...

I Ain't Happy
My Mom is in SO much trouble with me.
This morning, it was raining out so I didn't get a good walk in and I didn't really take care of all of the business that I needed to take care of. When Mom got ready to leave for work, I figured she would take me out again. Did she today? Nooooo. Instead, she just carried me directly to the car.
So I think, "Well this can't be too bad. We're going for a ride! Maybe to that cool, big park again!" Did we go to the park? Nooooo. Mom drove a different way.
Then we went through a drive-through and I thought, "YES! French fries!" Did I get any? Noooo. Mom put the bag on the floor in front of my seat and never opened it! She just taunted me with it!
And then she tricked me by going a different direction and taking me to...the GROOMER. I really don't like that place. I hate hair cuts and I hate baths, and they do both of those to me there! Mom actually had the nerve to leave me at the groomer all day long, too, instead of just part of the day like usual. Grrrrrrr!
She gave me lots of cookies when she picked me up, so that was nice. And then we went for a short walk when we got home. It was still raining. I figured, "Great...a nice evening with just Mom and I at home." But did she stay home? Nooooo. She gave me my pills and then she LEFT ME and she was gone all evening!
I'm not a happy doggie right now. This woman owes me big time.
Note that my tail is down in this picture, and not up and wagging. This is NOT a picture of a happy doggie. Bad Mommy!

Vacation: Day 4 and the Trip Home
On the last day of our vacation, I got Mom up really early. She wasn't too happy about that 'cause she and Aunt Katie had been up late again. But, hey...a doggie's gotta potty, you know!
Before we packed up our cabin, Mom and Aunt Katie and I went to a place called Casper Bluffs. Mom said we were looking at some Indian burial mounds there. I have no idea what those are. I liked Casper Bluffs, though, 'cause there was lots and lots of room for me to run and explore. Mom kept me on my stupid leash there because she said she didn't know what I'd get into. Where's the trust?!
Here are some pictures of Mom, Aunt Katie, and I at Casper Bluffs:

I was tired when we left there, but I still had fun lookin' out the window of the van. Mom likes this picture...

Then we had to go back to our cabin to pack up to leave. I didn't want to leave, though, so I wouldn't listen to Mom and come back. I took off down the lane towards another cabin. I got in a little trouble. Here are some pictures of me being naughty... Just look at my tail and you can see just how unhappy I was about leaving!

We went shopping again after we packed up and left our cozy cabin. I got to ride around in my doggie bag. I was excited this time. Mom thought it was funny that I stuck my tail out the back of the bag and was waggin' away.

It was a hot day, though, and I got pretty tired. I fell asleep in my bag with my face smooshed against the side.

We started the drive home after we finished shopping. Mom put me in the backseat again, but I didn't care 'cause I was SO TIRED. I slept the entire way. We went to Aunt Katie's house and got our car, and then we went to Aunt Katie's Mom's house to say "hi" and get our stuff out of Aunt Katie's van. I liked Grandma Connie and Grandpa Wes's house. They had lots of stuff for me to sniff and roll around in. Mom kept telling me to stop 'cause she didn't want me rolling in chicken or peacock poop. She's no fun. (he he he!)
And then Mom and I drove to our house. I had a good time on our road trip, but I was so very glad to be home!

Vacation: Day 2
I know it's been a while since Mom and I went on our road trip, but I still need to write about it 'cause it was cool. Lots of "firsts" for me.
So after we stayed in our hotel room (and after I got in trouble for barking), we got back in Aunt Katie's van and went to Galena. Mom let me ride on her lap this time instead of having me sit in the back 'cause it wasn't a far trip.
I've gone shopping at the doggie store lots of times, and I love going there. We did lots and lots of shopping on vacation, too, only this was different. Mom put me in a doggie bag and carried me. I guess not all people like doggies in their stores, but we were sneaky and I was kinda hiding. I wasn't too excited about the doggie bag at first, but I did get lots and lots of attention in it. Lots of people wanted to pet me. I'm always up for a good head scrachin'.
People would say, "Oh, what a cute doggie!" or "Look at that little puppy!" Some people were downright silly and said, "Is that a real dog?" Oh, come on! Give me a break! WHAT do I look like?! Of course I'm a real doggie!
Here's a picture of Mom and I shopping:

After we went shopping, we went to the place we were gonna stay for two nights. It was called a cabin, and it had biiiig animals called alpacas there. Here's what an alpaca looks like:

And here's a picture of Mom, Aunt Katie, and I sitting by our cabin, watchin' the alpacas:

After we watched the alpacas for a while, Mom and Aunt Katie put me in charge of guarding the cabin and they left for a while. I stayed inside in my little crate, but that was o.k. 'cause I was pretty tired from all of the excitement. And it's a good thing I got some rest, too, 'cause Mom and Aunt Katie kept me up late that night with all of their chatting and stuff.

Road Trip
Mom started getting lots of stuff out last night and she sure made a mess of our living room. She said that she's packing so that we can go on a road trip. And guess what...I get to go, too! When Mom goes someplace for a long time, I usually have to go stay with someone like Grandma Cindy or Grandma Pat. I get to go with Mom this time, so that's super cool.
Mom said that Aunt Katie is going, too. I like her, so I think this will be fun. I sure hope that big, mean cat of hers stays home, though. I don't want to be pounced again!

Oops...Piddle...
I was really tired when we were driving home from Grandma and Grandpa's house tonight. I had the coolest dream, though. I'm mad at Hossy for trying to steal my Mom from me (read the post below...) so I had a dream that I was in Grandma and Grandpa's backyard and I was going potty over the top of every single one of Hossy's spots! That was a wonderful dream.
The funny thing is that I was sleeping on Mom's lap when we were driving home...and I actually did potty in my sleep! Yep...I peed on Mom's leg in the car!
Oops.

I'm Not a Guard Dog
Mom took me outside tonight to potty and guess what happened when we came back inside... The door lock broke! The key got all stuck inside the lock and Mom couldn't get the key out.
Mom decided that we needed to fix the lock 'cause I'm probably not a good guard dog. My cousin Hoss would be, though. He's huge and he can really bark. Me? I'm tiny and only yip occasionally. Not good guard dog material. My job is just to look cute, I think.
So, Mom and I went for a ride to the store to get a new lock. She said she wasn't going to leave me home 'cause the door wasn't locked. Mom said that stuff is replaceable, but cute little doggies like me aren't! I have to agree with her on that.
And the good news is that Mom got the door lock fixed tonight. So I can just go back to being cute and not worrying about that guard dog job. Whew!

The VET!
I should have known something was going on this morning when Mom asked me if I wanted to go for a ride. She took me to the VET and then she LEFT ME THERE!!!
I'm a doggie pin cushion. They poked my leg with a needle and then gave me some food. So I thought things were all good. Wrong answer. They waited a while and then they poked me in the leg again! Ouch.
I was so happy to see Mom when she came to get me...even if I am a bit ticked at her for leaving me there. What's next...the groomer?!?!

My Summer Vacation
Oh, wow...has it REALLY been almost a month since I've had a chance to write?! Things have been a little crazy for me.
Mom got super busy with homework, so I got to go spend a couple of weeks at Grandma and Grandpa's house. I have so much fun there -- it was sort of my summer vacation. Grandma sneaks me scraps of food and stuff. he he he. I love that. I'm not supposed to have people food anymore 'cause of my bladder stones. Grandma spoils me, though.
I spent a lot of time with Hoss when I was at Grandma and Grandpa's house. He's my cousin, and he stays at Grandma's house a lot of the time, too. I think he's there a lot more than me, though. Uncle Marty drops him off every afternoon when he goes to work.
It's fun to hang with Hossy. He's got Grandma trained to take him for rides in the car...so I got to go, too! That was so much fun. Grandma would drive us around town. Hossy got the backseat -- 'cause he's such a big doggy -- and I got to sit up front with Grandma and Grandpa. I love going for rides. Mom doesn't take me NEARLY often enough!
Grandma has an awesome backyard, too, and it has a fence all of the way around it. I got to just romp all over the place. So very cool. I liked to find a good spot and then just roll around on my back in the grass. Awwwwww. There's also a cool tree at the far side of the yard. I went and sat in the shade there quite a bit, just to watch the world go by. Grandma usually sent Grandpa out to get me when they decided it was time to go inside. They weren't very happy when I didn't just run back up to the house. I really didn't want to leave that nice, shady spot!
Mom's been pretty busy with work lately. I guess she's done with school for the summer, though. Maybe now she'll let me use the computer more often to write stuff here... Let's hope!
